All things Royal.....

Is it just me???? I am completely OBSCESSED with all things related to the royal engagement and upcoming wedding for William and Kate!!! I have ALWAYS loved Princess Diana, and basically anything to do with William when I was little....

I was so excited to hear that William and Kate were engaged and getting married. She is so elegant, poised, and beautiful.

I really can not wait to see all of the details of the wedding, the dress, and the cake.

Who else is planning to watch the wedding?

Sydney's new earrings...

Sydney has been begging to get her ears pierced or "pierced ears" for the past 2 years. We finally caved and let her today! She was so excited until time to get into the chair. She got nervous and wasn't so sure anymore but decided she wanted to go ahead. We let her pick out the earrings she wanted. She of course chose pink. Her nana also bought her some really nice pink lady bug and dragon fly earrings.

Getting ready to get her ears pierced.

On the count of 3....

One........Two......
Three......There were no tears....NOTHING!!!!

for all of 10 seconds. LOL! And then this She cried HUGE alligator tears and literally jumped into my arms. And then it was over. She was so big and done a GREAT job. She she was able to pick out two more pairs for later on. She wanted the cupcakes and icecream cones. Both with pink of course. ;) The girls that pierced her ears were so good. They had given her a lollipop before hand and told her to put it in her mouth and tell them the flavor when they said 3. Sydney did not even LOOK at the sucker until later. When she was picking out her other earrings she put it in and told them that it was banana split. ;)

Sydney- I am so proud of you. You were such a big girl! I think you are beautiful with your pink earrings!

Fun in the sun...

We went to the beach this weekend to just "get away" for a couple of days! The weather was AMAZING. The kids are starting to LOVE the beach as much as their daddy and I do. =) I would literally live there if I could. Something about crossing the bridge puts a smile on my face and I'm totally happy. All we did was play on the beach, look for crabs, and swim. Sydney has just started to swim (still with her floaties but with out me or daddy). She is adorable. At night we would go walk on the beach and look for crabs. The kids LOVE this. It melts my heart seeing them light up and squeal with excitement as they try to catch the crabs.

The boys trying to "block" the crab.
Saturday night we had a wedding reception we went to but afterwards we went to play putt putt golf. Sydney actually got 3 hole in ones. =)

Looking for crabs with the boys. I bought them their own flashlights and lights for them to wear. They were so cute!

Again looking for crabs. Trent has started acting goofy when taking pictures....He will make some of the craziest/silliest pictures.

The place we stayed had a kiddie area. They kids LOVED it but the water was FREEZING!!!! No matter what time of day or what the temperture was.
We had SOOOO much fun. Hopefully we can go back one more time before it gets to cool to go. Hope that you guys had a great weekend too!

Perdido Key - Orange Beach, Al

I should be packing for my trip to Michigan tomorrow BUT I wanted to blog about trip before I leave. Yesterday afternoon we headed down to Perdido Key to stay so that Sydney could help out at the OLM prelim pageant. We got in later than we had wanted so we went to dinner and then took the little ones walking on the beach. We had so much fun just playing around and "looking" for crabs.

Sydney getting her OLM Universal Beauty Robe

So pretty...

Sydney and Brooklyn

Keeping with tradition by sleeping with your robe the night you get it.
She was sooo excited.

Labor day cont...

We stayed at the Boardwalk this year and LOVED it. They have so much for kids! At night they blow up an inflatible thing with a screen in it and had a movie on the beach. We decided to order pizza and watch the movie. The kids LOVED watching Marmaduke on the beach. At one point a boat that was off shore started shooting TONS of fireworks. Then they wanted to swim and walk on the beach and look for crabs. We stayed up WAY to late but had sooo much fun, so I think it was definitely worth them staying up for.

They melt my heart.....=)
It's hard to see but Trevor is holding a small crab and
Trent isn't to sure about it. haha

I love the sun setting at the beach.

We had a great Labor Day weekend at the beach.

Good Bye Summer....

Labor Day marks the "end" of summer in most places....Just not South Alabama ;) We decided to head to the beach and put our toes in the sand. We absolutely LOVE the water and are so thankful to live so close to the beach. The weather was perfect and the water was beautiful.

Trevor LOVES to boogie board and loves the ocean....
Trent had to pose for me while conning his sister into "pulling" him
on the sand on his boogie board.
Sydney showing off her dance moves...

Trevor and Trent had to try out the surf boards at Pier Park.
This was sooo funny. Trent would fall off and then they would
make Trevor's really move around so he would fall too.

More pictures to come.....

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

Just checking in....

We had an amazing weekend. I got to go see my precious new niece Leila on Friday night. We had a great time visiting with new mom and dad and she already just LOVES Aunt April. =)

Saturday, Sydney wasn't feeling good...her throat was hurting again so we just had a lazy day. But it was what we ALL needed and we just spend the day together.

So far this week has been super busy. I'm on week 2 of my new job and still love it. I will be so glad once we get our schedule back on track though. Hopefully tomorrow I can post a "real" update and upload some pictures!

waiting...

We are STILL waiting on sweet little Leila. She is taking her sweet precious time and plans to make a GRAND entrance sometime soon. =)

Sydney had a GREAT first day at school. Trevor was such a sweet brother and helped us take her supplies to her classroom. I'll post pictures tomorrow. It's been a long day so I'm off to bed.

Busy.....just a little ;)

Yesterday was plain hectic. My first day on my new job, Trevor's first day of 5th grade, Trent started back to daycare/pre-k, and Sydney (who should have started kindergarden) woke up with her face slightly puffy and redness under her eye. I got the boys off and headed to work only to be called before 9 that Sydney's eye was almost swollen shut, looked bruised and that puss pockets were popping up. Apparently this is somewhat normal b/c the doctor didn't want to see her he just called in a steriod and antibiotic (grrr...this is #7 in less than 3 months). HOPEFULLY this will be the LAST time she has to take steriods or antibiotics for a while.

Trevor had a GREAT day! He LOVES this teacher and so do I. She was his pre-k teacher and we just LOVE LOVE LOVE her! Trent was so happy to be back with his friends and his teacher too!

Sydney is sooo much better today. She will attempt to go to school tomorrow!

AND tomorrow my sis-in-law is having her sweet little angel. We have been awaiting this precious little girls arrival for so long! Sydney is claiming her as her "sister". Praying for a safe and easy delivery for mama and baby. =) So tomorrow I'll have LOTS of pics to update!

Step by step...day by day...

Sorry I haven't updated since Sydney's surgery but it has been a couple of hectic days. Sydney is doing GREAT....She is in a lot of pain still but that is to be expected! I am sooo proud of how she's done. Only a few melt downs =) Today is the first day she's really eat anything (yogurt, pudding, grits, oatmeal) She is still only eating a little ("maybe" half of a yogurt) at a time but it's a HUGE improvement from just a teaspoon or two. I'll try to upload the video from right before her surgery. She had already been given some medicine so she was pretty loopy. Here are some pictures of her surgery. The nurses were AMAZING to her and us. They even took out "bitty's" tonsils and adnoids. Bitty came out with a bandaid too! The pictures are in the wrong order.... Sorry. I'll do better next time.

Trevor and Trent were so sweet. They both prayed for her before her surgery. I LOVE those boys. =)

This is after she came back from surgery - she's OUT!
(they had to give her Demoral b/c she was fighting them and pretty upset)
The pad they had put on her bed to protect her. She must have been pretty upset...

Right before going in the OR.

The meds starting to take place...She was being sooo SILLY!

Sydney when we got into her room. She thought those booties/socks were funny.

She was so sweet. The lady who checked us in asked her if she was my little girl and she said "no, I'm mommies little princess". Talk about melting my heart.
Thank you GOD for answering my prayers. I prayed for a daughter JUST like Sydney.

Can my nerves handle this???

Nervous.......

Sydney is having her tonsils and adnoids taking out in the morning. I'm nervous.....and slightly scared. Why? I'm not sure. The doctor is AMAZING but she is my little princess. And she's being put to sleep. Surgery just makes me nervous. None of us have ever had to have ANY surgeries but a least its something minor. BUT hopefully this will mean NO MORE STREP!!!!! That would make us BOTH very happy! I have a feeling that the next few days are going to be a little hard. Esp. for Sydney. Love and patience and ICECREAM will hopefully do the trick. ;)

I'll update as the day goes on as to how she is.

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

Sorry I haven't been writing lately. This past week has been extremely busy and a bit stressful. Thurday I had to take Sydney to Childrens Hospital (about 4 hours away) for her routine appt. and then yesterday we had a follow up for her strep throat. The initial test came back negative but they decided to culture it just to be sure. They called bright and early that her test came back positive, so we are on antibiotics AGAIN and this is the 5th TIME she has had a positive strep since the middle of May. We now have an appointment with an ENT so hopefully we can get some answers. I'll try to update more later when I know something!

This has been one BUSY week. Sydney LOVED start first. She loves her teacher (which is a blessing). We now have a week before school starts. =)

Monday, July 26, 2010

Start First.....

Today was Sydney's first day of kindergarden (or Start First)! Our schools have a program set up so that the kindergarden students go for the week for a few hours and learn about the school, and to get them ready for "real" school to start. They are then out for a week and then start with the rest of the school.

Sydney LOVED her teacher. She has several people she knows in her class and said that she just "might" go back tomorrow! I love the innocence of little kids! =)

I'm NOT that MOM!

1st alternate

S State La Petite Our Little Miss

Being crowned for the 1st time EVER! =)

We are gearing up for beauty season. Sydney is the state La Petite Queen. No I'm NOT a total pageant mom who forces her child into pageants. I am VERY selective as to which pageants she enters and she LOVES them. I waited until she asked to be in them. So far she has done very well in them.

Ending a long day with homemade Peach ice cream

Today has been just one of those days. Sydney did NOT sleep well at ALL last night. The medicine she is on makes her little stomach cramp and makes her sick. =( This makes for one TIRED mama!

Nana and Pop-Pop have been selling watermelons at the market this week and brought us home some yummy peaches. There were some that needed to be used so Nana decided to make some homemade peach ice cream. It was sooo yummy. Now if we can just get into bed at a decent hour and get some rest we can enjoy the rest of our weekend!

Patience

I love how when something is heavy on your heart and you are praying for God's help he sends you to certain places. There have been many times of the past couple of weeks this scripture has been in what I've read or in bible studies. Patience is not one of my assets, yet it's something that I strive for daily.

James1:2-8
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

We should praise God though the storms just as we praise Him when things are going the way WE want.

I absolutely LOVE being a mother!!!! I am so thankful that God has blessed us with 3 healthy, beautiful, amazing children. I love the little things they say and how protective they are of each other. I do have my moments where they are consistantly fussing and fighting and I'm ready to pull my hair out. But that's part of having children. ;) These pictures just melt my heart...

Trevor and Trent

Sydney showing off her toothless smile! She lost both teeth at the same time! And she's only 5!

Sydney, Trent, and Trevor @ the beach. We were looking for sand crabs and the full moon was beautiful.

Trevor and Sydney at her pre-k graduation

Tonight as we were saying our prayers Trent prayed that God wouldn't let the alligator get him or Sydney. The way he said it was so sweet and sincere. (Nana and Pop-Pop have an alligator in their pond and we have told them that they HAVE to be careful around the pond and to watch out for it)
